How do I waterproof my boardbag?

You want to waterproof our hemp boardbags?

Cool, we like that.

After some research we came across Nikwax water proofing solution, which is environmentally safe and tested it on our bags, I must say that I was skeptical but pleasantly surprised by the results.

Most water repellents contain fluorocarbons and we at Wave Tribe could not justify water proofing with those nasty chemicals, fluorocarbon water-repellents contain nar-nar chemicals that are damaging to the environment and humans.

Many people have told us to just waterproof the Hemp at the factory, but if we did this we would be dumping lots of unnecessary chemicals into the environment and thus we offer Nikwax as an add on if you want or need it because of your location or climate – the majority of our customers don’t need it and thus we can’t justify using all those chems. Nikwax is a great alternative and fits nicely with our bags:

•         No chemical solvents.
•         No Fluorocarbons.
•         Non-toxic, non-flammable and do not expel fumes.
•         Products are not tested on animals and the packaging is recyclable.
